A Successful First Year

After wrapping up a busy and successful 2025 RV repair service season, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on an exciting milestone for my business. Island RV Service and Solar Ltd. completed its first full year of operation. I started the company in July 2024 (mid-camping season), and seeing how much it has grown since then has been incredibly rewarding. What began as a passion for helping RV owners stay safe, comfortable, and on the road has quickly turned into a busy and fulfilling mobile service business.

For those who may be new here, my name is Greg Matsuo. I’m a Red Seal Endorsed (RSE) Journeyman RV Service Technician with over nine years of hands-on experience. I am fully insured and hold a Class O RV Service Technician gas license from the Province of PEI. Over the years, I’ve worked on just about every type of RV you can imagine, including travel trailers, fifth wheels, and motorhomes ranging from Class B and C to Class A gas and diesel coaches. Bringing my experience, elevating the quality and reliability of RV service to my customers, and offering reliable, professional mobile RV repair is something I’m very proud of.

Some standout projects from 2025 included designing and installing a high-capacity Victron Energy–based solar, lithium battery, and inverter/charger system in a large 4x4 off-grid-ready Class C motorhome. I also completed a full axle replacement, two tandem axle leaf spring replacements, multiple full roof reseals, and numerous pre-purchase RV inspections; with all work completed right at the customer’s campsite or driveway. Add in the replacement of several freeze-damaged tank-style water heaters, and a very busy Fall winterizing season, and it was a busy year from start to finish.

One of the most rewarding parts of the season was meeting a very diverse group of RV owners. Customers ranged from local Islanders to Canadian visitors from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia. I also had the pleasure of working with international travelers from Switzerland, Germany, and the United States—proof that PEI truly is a destination for RVers from around the world. Helping people enjoy their travels by getting them back on the road as soon as possible, and preventing potential breakdowns along the way, is what this work is all about.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who trusted Island RV Service and Solar Ltd. during the first full year in operation. Your support, referrals, and kind words made 2025 a huge success. I’m already looking forward to another busy and exciting camping season in 2026, continuing to provide dependable mobile RV repair and RV solar solutions across PEI. See you on the road!
