RV APPLIANCE SERVICE AND REPAIR
We service all common makes and models of RV water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners, and refrigerators. RV appliances operate under some difficult conditions and are exposed to dust, insects and their nests, rain, ice/snow, and... let's admit it... user error. Regular maintenance and servicing of your RV appliances will go a long way to extending the life of your RV appliances AND ensure they run reliably during your camping adventures.

RV SOLAR-LITHIUM POWER SYSTEM DESIGN, SERVICE, AND REPAIR
Solar-Lithium based power systems are becoming increasingly common in RVs. Having a well throughout and carefully crafted system is crucial to getting the most from your investment. We design, install, and maintain systems that best serve your needs when camping on or off grid. There's a system for everyone from retrofitting a new lithium battery to an existing RV all the way up to large solar-lithium-inverter charger systems that support complete off grid camping or protecting your RV and sensitive electronics from brownouts and blackouts at ever more crowded campgrounds.

SLIDE-OUT SYSTEM SERVICE AND REPAIR
We service all Schwintek/Slim-rack, cable operated, and through-frame electric and hydraulic systems. Preventative maintenance is a critical part of ensuring that your slide out system works reliably to avoid those unwanted surprises when your slide won't move. Common failure points we lookout for include: worn or loose slide out drive mechanisms, rubber weather seals fouled with sticky sealant or tree sap, broken rollers, failed electric motors or pumps, gearboxes leaking oil on to slide out roofs, and bent/damaged interior/exterior flanges can result is operational issues that can result in severe damage to the slide and drive mechanism. These are all issues we can assess and repair to keep your slides running smoothly during your camping trip.

FRESH AND WASTE WATER SYSTEM SERVICE AND REPAIR
We repair common plumbing issues include: leaking freshwater lines and fittings, leaking water heaters, damaged or worn valves, winter freeze damage, stuck wastewater drain valves, fouled fresh/grey/black tank level sensors, and rodent damaged plastic water lines. Fresh water and wastewater systems are an essential part of an RV that are expected to work all the time and every time. Common plumbing issues include: leaking freshwater lines and fittings, leaking water heaters, damaged or worn valves, winter freeze damage, stuck wastewater drain valves, fouled fresh/grey/black tank level sensors, and rodent damaged plastic water lines. We are able to repair most of the common plumbing related issues you may encounter.

EXTERIOR SEALANT AND ROOF MEMBRANE SYSTEM INSPECTION, SERVICE, AND REPAIR
We service and repair sealant for all common RV roofing systems (membrane, fibreglass, and aluminum) and related exterior components and accessories. Your roof and related sealed wall surfaces are the most important part of your RV's well-being as this is what keeps the elements out and the interior dry. Regular sealant inspections (at least once every 12 months) are strongly recommended for the roof membrane, roof mounted accessories and sealant, roof edge/transition mouldings, corner mouldings, compartment doors, entry doors, and windows. Results of the sealant inspection are documented and are used to prepare a repair plan and estimate should any repairs be needed. Most RV manufacturers require proof of regular roof and sealant inspections to maintain warranty coverage. Additionally, most RV insurance policies do not cover water damage unless this specific peril is covered. A sealant inspection reduces the likelihood of expensive water related claims due to preventable damage. Replacement of roof membrane, and repairs to underlying roof structure, are typically very labour intensive jobs that can result in significant, expensive damage to the interior of an RV. Annual sealant inspections, along with regular sealant maintenance, are simple cost-effective ways of protecting your RV from water damage and related rot and black mold issues.

RV PROPANE GAS SYSTEM TESTING AND APPLIANCE SERVICE AND REPAIR
We provide RV propane appliance gas system inspections, servicing, installation, and testing including installing new propane gas regulators, copper/neoprene lines, setting working pressure, confirming lockup pressure, and completing a leak test. All propane LP gas system repairs are completed by a licensed, insured, and fully qualified RV technician.

TRAILER ELECTRIC BRAKES, BEARINGS, AND SUSPENSION SERVICE AND REPAIR
We service RV travel trailer and cargo / utility trailer electric brake and related safety systems. Brakes, bearings, and suspension components for towable RV, cargo, and utility trailers are a critical part of the safety systems for these vehicles. Components wear over time, and combined with the Island's climate, are constantly under attack by corrosion. We service RV travel trailer and cargo / utility trailer electric brake systems and clean / inspect / repack bearings with grease and install new grease seals. This preventative maintenance will help extend the life of your RV trailer's brake system, prevent catastrophic bearing failure, and keep you and your family safe during your camping adventures.

12VDC AND 120VAC ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SERVICE AND REPAIR
We service and repair RV 12VDC and 120VAC 15A, 30A, or 50A shore power electrical systems. The 12VDC and 120VAC electrical systems are the central nervous system of your RV. When connected to 15A, 30A, or 50A 120VAC shore power these systems power and/or control every appliance, fan motor, light, TV, touch screen control, water pump, and device that requires electricity to operate. These two electrical systems come together at the main power centre where 12VDC power (supplied by the battery bank) and 120VAC power (supplied by a shore power connection) is distributed throughout the RV. Electrical faults and wiring issues due to normal wear and tear and unexpected damage can result in serious fire and electrical shock risks. Repairs we perform are completed to industry best practices and the highest of standards.

FRESH WATER SYSTEM WINTERIZATION AND DE-WINTERIZATION SERVICE
We winterize and de-winterize all types of towable and motorized RVs. Winterization of your RV's potable water system is completed in the Fall (before the first freezing temperatures) and is an essential part of preparing your RV for winter storage. The process of winterization involves pumping a non-toxic water line anti-freeze through all freshwater lines and appliances and draining water from water heaters, the freshwater tank, and refrigerator icemakers/water dispensers. Winterizing prevents freeze damage that can result in very expensive damage to the plumbing system and surround structures. De-winterization is completed in the Spring (when freezing temperatures are behind us) to get your RV ready for the camping season and involves pumping fresh water through the potable water lines to purge previously installed anti-freeze and putting all appliances back into service.

INSPECTIONS (non-MVI)
We provide multiple inspection services including: Pre-purchase, Propane / LP Gas System, and Trailer Brake System Inspections. PRE-PURCHASE INSPECTIONS for RV trailers and non-chassis components of motorhomes document the condition of all major accessible RV systems in advance of purchasing (or selling) an RV and allows you, the prospective buyer/seller, to make an informed purchase/sale; reducing the potential hassle of dealing with problems after making the purchase. Results are presented as a checklist with supporting images. While a pre-purchase inspection is unable to detect all defects with an RV it goes a long way towards limiting or minimizing foreseeable issues before you take the plunge and can be used as a basis for preparing a repair plan/cost estimate for deficiencies. PROPANE GAS SYSTEM INSPECTIONS & TESTING* for RV trailers and motorhomes tests and documents the condition and performance of safety and operational critical components of your RV’s propane gas system including (but not limited to): the Primary LP Regulator, Accessible Propane Distribution Lines, Propane Appliances, and Storage Containers (cylinders & tanks). RV & CARGO TRAILER BRAKE SYSTEM INSPECTIONS* verifies the function of the electric braking system, break-away switch, the trailer battery, and the exterior brake/marker/running lights. Additionally, the condition/function of the hitch/coupling mechanism, tires, rims, and suspension components are verified with all results documented and presented as a checklist. Results of a trailer brake system inspection can be used as a basis for preparing a repair plan/cost estimate for deficiencies. ASSURANCES - Island RV Service and Solar Ltd is fully insured. All propane gas system work is completed to industry best practices by a Red Seal Endorsed (RSE) technician and under a Province of PEI Class O RV Service Technician License.
